Guangzhou International Light Festival

As one of the three major lighting festivals in the world, the Guangzhou Lighting Festival will be held in Huacheng Square from November 26th to December 4th. This festival is already in its seventh year. After six years of development, it has developed into one of the world's three major lighting festivals with the French and Sydney lighting festivals . In 2015 it was selected as a large-scale cultural event of the UNESCO International Light Year. It is also a new business card representing the image of Guangzhou. The 7th Lighting Festival is a summary of the first six sessions and a vision for the future development of urban lighting art.

This year's lighting festival is based on the theme of "40 years of reform and opening-up, the new era of Guangyuhuacheng". 20 works by lighting art designers from home and abroad and universities, is closely surrounding the theme of the 40th anniversary of reform and opening-up, using light media Language to create an artistic work that carries the deep memory of Guangzhou's reform and opening-up for 40 years, highlighting the charm of Guangzhou's city.

The most anticipated work of the annual lighting festival is the light show of the Guangzhou Tower. After the lighting ceremony of the festival, the Guangzhou Tower will bring a light show called “Time·Power” as the beginning of the festival. “Time·Power” uses the laser beam to shuttle back and forth between the tall buildings of the central axis of the Guangzhou Tower, and outlines a vast picture of Guangzhou from the early morning sun, lighting up the Pearl River New City and displaying a spectacular ecological picture,showing the good life of the present.

From November 26th to December 2nd, the Guangzhou Tower Light Show will be broadcasted in three sessions every night. The first start time is 19:00 pm, the second start time is 20:00 pm, and the third start time is At 21:00 pm, each light show will be played for 8-10 minutes. Citizens who want to see the "power of the times" can make reasonable arrangements according to the timetable.
